August 6, 2014 Margot Creek Alaska

For my dads last trip on his stay in Alaska we took the big boat across Naknek lake to Margot Creek for more fishing and bears.

A view from the lake on the way in.

Grizzly fishing at the mouth of the creek.

The creek level was a lot lower this year and so choked with sockeyes that it made some places almost impossible to fish due to the sheer number of salmon.

So we pulled a nice pretty one out for a quick pic.

Lots of salmon means lots of bears.
And lots of char and trout.

Heading back to the boat.

And to complete my dads trip to Alaska we ran into this blond grizzly bear who had quite an attitude, but after a little arguing we finally convinced him to let us pass.

Fortunately the last bear we encountered was much more cooperative.
