December 6, 2013 Still Going Strong

Fishing has slowed slightly on the MO this past week but that can be expected as water temps have dropped back to the average below 40 temps for this time of year. The flows have remained strong with snow from the past weeks melting in the rain but now it looks like we are starting to settle in to typical winter weather witch makes the steelhead fishing a little slower. There are still a ton of fish in the system but you need to cover lots of water to find the active fish each day.

Had Kris and Tony from Washington state out for a full day float. They are both writers from STS magazine, they came to check out our awesome Michigan steelhead fishing.

Nice winter buck through the fish eye.

More happy steelheaders.

Great way to spend a winter day with grandpa.

Continuing to see a lot of fat healthy trout mixed in with all the great steelhead.

November 20, 2013 Fall Fishing At Its Finest!

The beginning of rifle season in Michigan also signals some of the best Steelhead fishing of the fall,
this years is no exception. The river has benefited greatly from the steady well timed rains over last month, recovering from seriously low water in October to some great above average flows in November.
Higher water this time of year makes for some great fishing conditions.

I would like to say thank you to all my clients from the last month for some great times on the water, in the good weather and the howling winds and rain this has been a great fall season so far and I am really looking forward to some awesome fishing for the rest of the fall and through the winter.

Give me a call to set up a trip, a few more layers of warm clothes, a heater on the boat to warm the hands and a hot shore lunch make for an awesome late fall trip on the Muskegon.
